Measures taken to make this website more accessible

The Hotels retained the EqualWeb company to use its automatic review system as well as a team of developers, designers and content accessibility experts to review, remediate and test the website by performing multi-layered accessibility testing and analysis of the new and updated accessibility measures and web content. As part of the process to make this website more accessible, adjustments were made, among other things, to JavaScript and cascading style sheets. ADA Room Reservations

The Hotels comply with 28 CFR Part 36 regarding room reservations.  That is, the Hotels:

(i) Ensure that individuals with disabilities can make reservations for accessible guest rooms during the same hours and in the same manner as individuals who do not need accessible rooms;

(ii) Identify and describe accessible features in the hotels and guest rooms (see below) offered through its reservations service in enough detail reasonably to permit individuals with disabilities to assess independently whether a given hotel or guest room meets his, her or their accessibility needs;

(iii) Ensure that accessible guest rooms are held for use by individuals with disabilities until all other guest rooms of that type have been rented and the accessible room requested is the only remaining room of that type;

(iv) Reserve, upon request, accessible guest rooms or specific types of guest rooms and ensure that the guest rooms requested are blocked and removed from all reservations systems; and,

(v) Guarantee that the specific accessible guest room reserved through its reservations service is held for the reserving customer, regardless of whether a specific room is held in response to reservations made by others.

Exception. The requirements in paragraphs (iii), (iv), and (v) of this section do not apply to reservations for individual guest rooms or other units not owned or substantially controlled by the Hotels but that are present at the Hotels or on its property.

ADA Accessible Rooms

The Hotels have 72 rooms with either an ADA compliant bathtub (48) or shower (25) and all of which are otherwise ADA compliant.  The Hotels also have 101 rooms with hearing assistance features (see below for more information).

Our ADA-compliant rooms are dispersed among the various classes of guest room and the three properties.

  • Bathrooms with ADA compliant showers or bathtubs provide enough clear floor space to allow a wheelchair to turn around either in a 60” diameter circle or a similar “T” turn.
    • ADA compliant bathtubs have seats that are between 17” and 19” above the floor and horizontal grab bars as required by the ADA.
    • Showers with roll-in features have a fixed, fold down seat with controls that are reachable from a sitting position, as well as ADA-required grab bars (but not on the seat-attachment wall).
  • ADA compliant toilets are between 17” and 19” inches from the bathroom floor and provide sufficient floor space to permit a wheelchair to access and transfer to the toilet.
  • Certain of the ADA compliant rooms are furnished with beds that permit the use of a Hoyer lift or transfer hoist.
  • ADA compliant rooms have doors and entryways that are at least 32 inches wide, while hallways ramps and other routes are at least 36 inches wide.
  • ADA Rooms with only one bed provide at least 30 inches of clearance on both sides of the bed to accommodate parallel positioning of a wheelchair for side transfers. Rooms with two beds, provide at least 30 inches between the beds but not necessarily on both sides of both beds.

ADA Communication Features

As indicated above, the Hotels provide rooms with ADA compliant communication features.  Upon request, such features include telephones permitting hands-free use, TTY compatibility, volume adjustment, and nearby/accessible power supplies.  Such rooms include visible-audio notification features, braille signage, and signs meeting ADA size/color/stroke standards.  Such rooms include visible notifications for doorbells.  The Hotels’ general alarm system is compliant with NFPA audible and visible alarm requirements.

For hearing assistance rooms, please request the preferred/necessary features during the reservation process; however, guests may also make such requests upon arrival or during the stay.  Prior requests are strongly encouraged.

Limitation of Room Descriptions

The above descriptions of the various ADA compliant features of the Hotel themselves are necessarily limited and incomplete so as to avoid an exhaustive, complicated but ultimately unhelpful recitation.  Rather, the descriptions provided herein are general in nature.

While you are able to book ADA compliant rooms that meet your needs via the Marriott website (which website provides ADA room-specific descriptions) and in a manner consistent with ADA booking requirements, you may also email [email protected] or call 407-491-4331 for additional information or specific questions or requests.  Please note, however, that we are not able to guarantee that any particular room with any particular feature will be available at any given time even though our reservation practices are ADA compliant.

Physical Location Accessibility Services

The Hotels’ entrances each have an automatic door opening button, and stairs do not bar entrance for those requiring wheelchairs to travel.  Hallways, elevators and through-ways are all sufficiently wide to permit mobility.  The Hotel’s restaurants and bar areas are set-up to permit wheelchair travel and accommodation.  The Hotels also provide:

  • Employee training for accessible services
  • In person assistance for people with disabilities
  • Disabled parking space
  • Accessible waiting areas
  • Accessible front desk, information/concierge desk
  • Accessible public bathrooms
  • Accessible elevators
  • Hearing impaired technology aids
  • Technology aids for vision impairments

Transportation

The Hotels’ have five swimming pools each of which has an ADA compliant lift.  The Hotels also provide free transportation to all Disney theme parks with every Disney shuttle providing a wheelchair lift operable by the driver.  The Hotels also provide a free wheelchair accessible water taxi to Disney’s Boardwalk, Hollywood Studios and EPCOT.  Accessible airport transportation is available for a fee by appointment.

Reasonable Requests

The Hotels honor reasonable accommodation requests at any time.  The Hotels of course appreciate when such reasonable requests are made with a reasonable amount of lead time.  In that regard, please email [email protected] or call 407-491-4331 with such requests or contact the Hotels service line from in the room.

Questions

Please email questions to [email protected] or call 407-491-4331.

It is our intention to resolve any complaint to your satisfaction, however, should you have any questions about our accessibility policy, including any requests to exercise your legal rights.

Feedback

While we believe that our website is accessible for people with disabilities as described above, human errors may occur that affect the website or the appropriate technological solution may not yet been available or may inadvertently inoperable—which is an issue for all users of technology. Regardless, we monitor operability and ADA compliance to avoid and/or promptly remediate such issues.  Further, we are dedicated to keep improving the accessibility features and interface of our Site.  If you notice something wrong, please email [email protected] or call 407-491-4331. We continue our efforts to improve site accessibility as much as possible, with the belief and moral commitment to enable the site to be used by the general population, including people with disabilities.

Likewise, if you believe there is an issue with the physical plant of the Hotels in the context of the ADA, please email or call the foregoing email address or number.
